A Waipawa boy, Rob first appeared on stage as the March Hare in The Mad Hatters Tea Party at age 7. He trained as both an actor and stage manager in Sydney and continued the animal theme by appearing at various times as Nana, the dog in Peter Pan, The Muddle-headed Wombat in Blinky Bill, and a Womble in The Wombles. He has also played The Tin Man and The Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz and The Mute in The Fantastiks, which was the inaugural production for the Bondi Pavilion Theatre in Sydney. He has worked extensively in Australia in Theatre, Film and Television. Since returning to New Zealand in 2010 he has regularly appeared on stage for Napier Operatic Society, Napier Repertory Players, and Theatre Hawke’s Bay.

Some of Rob’s favorite roles include: Amos Hart (Mr Cellophane) in Chicago, Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray, The Park Keeper in Mary Poppins and The Narrator in Blood Brothers for Napier Operatic Society. Birdboot in The Real Inspector Hound for Theatre Hawke’s Bay, and for Napier Repertory Players The Narrator in The End of the Golden Weather, Inspector Goule in An Inspector Calls, Sir Lawrence Wargrave in And Then There Were None and Andre, the titular role in The Father.

Rob is delighted to be once again working with Anthony Collier and honoured to again be part of a theatre company’s inaugural production.
