About
Sim has been involved in the Napier/ Hastings Musical theatre scene since high school, one of his first shows being Napier Operatic Society’s production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, where he met future family friend and director Anthony Collier. Sim has been performing since he was a child, at the age of four he had his first role as “Tom the talking Watermelon” in the Channel 51 Show: Mr Penitito’s Mystical Magical Miracle Tour. You may have seen Sim recently in Theatre Hawke’s Bay’s production of Assassins (also directed by Anthony Collier), playing the role of failed borderline bipolar presidential bane Samuel Byck – or in Hyderabad Theatre’s production of Bené, the autobiographical story of a John Bennett, the scaffolder turned royal ballet dancer. Sim has enjoyed working on and off the stage in various roles and jumped at the chance of working with Anthony once again. Proud to be involved in the inaugural production of the Napier Theatre Company supporting his good friends and theatre family. He would also finally like to thank his ever suffering wife Nina, who still finds time to care for him even with her busy schedule and her own theatre production underway!
